17.09.05 League Match
FC Village 10
- 2 Wirral Wanderers
Up
next was the first match at their new home down at Levers and it was fittingly
against old rivals Wirral Wanderers. The line up saw only one addition from
the previous game as Dava returned but with several positional changes it
was like fielding a new team from that match. Despite getting off to a terrible
start in letting a goal in inside the first 5 minutes the Village went on
to play some exhilarating football and completely overran their opponents.
Once Tommy had been played through and he calmly slotted home there was
no doubt who was going to win this game. Booey then earned his M.O.M vote
by firing in a hat-trick before half time which put them in a commanding
position. Soon after the restart Tommy had completed his hat-trick and then
it was just a matter of a personal dual between him and Booey as to would
come out on top. The Wanderers then scored a second consolation goal but
it was all Village as they in truth could easily have racked up 15 goals.
In the end they managed double figures as Tommy with the goal of the game
and Booey both got their fourth goals of the match and then sub Brian was
on hand to tap home from close range. Finally Tommy won his dual when he
was put through again and calmly slipped home his fifth for a final score
of 10-2. Apart from Booey's M.O.M both Tommy and Ritchie had excellent games
but for once there was not one weak link throughout the team as they all
played their part in a fantastic display. |
