F.C. Village were founded in the summer of 2005 after a group of players and their manager decided that they wanted to go it alone as a football club after being part of Newton F.C. for three years. They reverted back to the Village name when they discovered that they could be sponsored by the Village Wirral Hotel, using their new state of the art 5-a-side pitch for training and use the bar facilities as a club house after games on a Saturday afternoon.
Four of the current side (Jay, Nic, Cottier and Booey) were there at the outset when they formed Bidston Village back in 2001 for the last year of junior football. They played the 2001/2002 season in the Wallasey Junior U16 League and finished a creditable 7th.
Unable to get in to a Youth League for the next season they were offered the chance to continue as Newton F.C. third team but in the Birkenhead & Wirral Division 2 and open age football for 2002/2003. They did well to finish 11th and complete a difficult season competing against mostly men's teams.
On to 2003/2004 and still as Newton but now as their reserve team they were in the newly formed Division 3 of the Birkenhead & Wirral League. With some newer and older players they did somewhat better but still finished below half way but the highlight of the season was reaching a cup semi final.
2004/2005 saw their best season yet in the Birkenhead & Wirral League. Still in Division 3 they remained unbeaten for a long time only to have a bad run in Feb and so eventually just miss out on promotion as they finished level 4th. No decent cup runs but they knew they were getting better as each season passed. However the failure of Newton to help them along meant they made that big decision to go it alone and so F.C. Village arrived. Placed in Division 3 of the Birkenhead & Wirral League they knew that this first season would be the big test for them and indeed it was. After starting well they had a really bad dip mid season but finished on a high note. Now they are regrouping in the hope of moving upwards and onwards. They have also joined the Champion Soccer 6-a-side league played at Pensby Sports College every Thursday evening playing in Div 2 and since then have also joined the Football Mundial 6-a-side league played at Pensby as well but on a Wednesday evening.
