The Village held their End of Season presentation evening at the Village Hotel Bromborogh on Sat 23rd June as Leigh Hutton, Lee Wilson, Darren Eaton and David Saunders all took home a trophy each. Some 20 odd management, players and partners turned up for the evening in the conservatory at the Village Hotel and after a few drinks and sarnies Manager Steve Hill presented the trophies. Up first was Goal of the Season and this went to Dava for his superb winner against Div 1 side Manor Athletic in the first leg Sponsors Cup. Dava has now scored a total of 5 goals for the club and 2 of those have won him the Goal of the Season. Dava had just pipped Colin Newton for that award and Colin lost out for a second time as his 18 goals for the season couldn't quite match the total of Maggot. Maggot scored 19 in just 19 games but that could have easily been more and it was a shame he didn't make the elusive 20 goal barrier his play deserved. Manager Steve then presented his award and he had chosen Lee who in his first full season for the team had had an excellent year. He had played in nearly every game, played in every position across the back four and a fair few games in midfield always putting in 100% each time he donned the Village shirt. A worthy winner of this award. Finally the prestigous Players Player of the Year went to Leigh who had won a couple of the Managers awards but this was the first time he had been voted by his team mates as the top player. He had narrowly beaten previous winner Booey by just one vote but he was excellent whenever he played and was sorely missed when he couldn't make it through work committments. Everyone now had a more few drinks before most of them went in to town for the rest of the evening (see Gallery for more pictures). An enjoyable evening for all.
