Report:
Game 9 .
The Village put in a great performance as they not only kept the same players from the previous week but also saw the return of Ritchie and Matty. It may have taken them 14 minutes before they scored the first goal but after that there was no stopping them. A Matty hat-trick (the 3rd a magic dink), two from the excellent Mikey and one each from Josh, Stewy and Spud saw them score eight times. The only disappoinment was conceeding a last minute consolation goal which was harsh on Harper, otherwise a good win and if they can field the same team each week then who knows where they will finish.
Team Line-up: Harper; Doran, Aspey, McIvor, Kearney, Smith, Dunroe, Greenfield
Game 10 .
A week after their best performance the Village turned in their worst. With Mikey, Crozzer & Spud not turning up they were fortunate that Nick and Dava were available. However once they let in the first goal they was no way back. At two down, Josh scored to reduce the arrears but after that they were never in it. Ilchester made amends for their defeat by romping home with another four goals.
Footnote:- The Village have been awarded a 3-0 win over The Box of Toys now which was game 7..
Team Line-up: Harper; Whorton, McIvor, Aspey, Dunroe, Smith, Saunders
Game 11.
Back to winning ways in Week 10 as the team once again saw several changes. In came Titch, Maggot and Jamie(first game since breaking his arm) to join Harper, Ritchie, Josh and Mikey. With the rain coming down the Village soon opened the scoring through Mikey and despite JBL scoring one themselves a quick fire hat-trick from Josh saw them lead 4-1. With so many attackers in the side they left Titch on his own some times and so Jay came on to give Josh a break. However it was soon 4-3 before Mikey restored the two goal lead only for JBL to pull it back to one before Maggot got the sixth and final goal which was enough to see them through.
Team Line-up: Harper; Harrison, Aspey, Dunroe, Kearney, Eaton, Hill(J)
Game 12.
Week 11 and defeat number four and the second against I.E.B.S. With no defenders on show for the Village they knew it would be tough and despite coming from behind twice through Josh and Maggot they left poor old Harper who made several good saves too much too do although saying that the third goal had a good assist from the ref. A bad week overall.
Team Line-up: Harper; Smith, Aspey, Dunroe, Kearney, Eaton, Hill(S)
Game 13.
It seems like its a win one week and a defeat the next. The Village for once had a glut of players for this game as they gained a first win over the Glegg. In came Danny Jones & Darren Sample for their debuts with Crozzer and Spud returning to join the usual 6. Darren was the star of the show for not only did he score a debut hat-trick he also scored Glegg's consolation effort when he headed past Harper in to his own net. This cancelled out his opener before Ritchie powered home to restore the lead. Darren then went on to score two classy goals in a second half to secure the win.
Footnote:- The Village have been awarded a 3-0 win over The Box of Toys which is game 14.
Team Line-up: Harper; Jones, Aspey, Dunroe, Sample, Eaton, Doran, McIvor, Smith, Greenfield
Game 15.
Having missed a game a couple of week ago the Village were asked to play 2 games in one night. Up first they were against the top side and saw Jay play as Stewy and Ritchie would arrive late. They also Ryan Palin make his first appearance since he was one of the Bidston Village boys. WIth Harper pulling off several exceelent saves the Village then saw them sneak 2 goals through Darren and Matty to take a deserved 2-0 lead in to the second half. However after a slip in defence let the Gunners back in and then the ref gave them a second goal and after that they took command. They scored 3 more goals although Ryan did hit the post with a great long range effort.
Team Line-up: Harper; Jones, Hill(J), Palin, Smith, Sample, McIvor, Aspey
